Good and Good for You: A Mizzou Charitable Gift Annuity
Retired MU faculty Carol and Dick Dowdy |
For years, Dick and Carol Dowdy taught people to eat what is good for them. Retired from MU's Department of Nutrition and Exercise Physiology, Dick said he taught a general course on nutrition to many students, and it was a wonderful experience. "We tried to sort out nutritional fact from fiction. We dealt with how good nutrition can help you and how abused it can hinder you."
A Gift Annuity Is Good for the Dowdys
A belief that education is an investment motivated the Dowdys to create a Mizzou charitable gift annuity. They also appreciate the steady level of income it will provide in later adult years.
The Dowdys' gift through a charitable gift annuity will provide them with an annual payout for life. They receive an income-tax charitable deduction, and their annuity payments are partially tax-free. The Dowdys are supporting the Nutrition and Exercise Physiology program in MU’s College of Agriculture, Food & Natural Resources.
